Tides Restaurant
On the ground floor of the Edition Hotel in downtown Reykjavík lies the stunning Tides restaurant. For the past two years, Tides has received a Michelin Guide recommendation and fully lives up to that prestigious recognition. Every dish was beautifully presented, flavorful, and distinct. The atmosphere at Tides is relaxed, with cozy music enhancing the experience. It’s also worth heading up to The Roof, the bar on the top floor, either before or after your meal—or both! The view from there is simply breathtaking.
Mikael, one of the chefs, greeted us at the beginning of our visit and recommended a few dishes, which we greatly appreciated—we followed his advice to the letter and were not disappointed. Later, most of the dishes were brought to our table by Úlfar, a culinary student clearly excelling in this artistic field. The head chef at Tides is Alexandre Paiva from Italy, but Ramesh from Bulgaria was in charge of the kitchen during our visit. Our waiter was Bernardo from Portugal. All of them were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the dishes being served.
Sometimes, you just have to treat yourself.
