27 Mathús – restaurant & bar
We recently dined at 27 Mathús in Kópavogur and were pleasantly surprised by the warm Mediterranean atmosphere and creative cooking. The menu draws inspiration from across the Mediterranean, from Spain to Lebanon, and focuses on sharing plates and bold flavors.

We started with a selection of meze, including excellent hummus, homemade ricotta, quality olive oil, and beautifully prepared vegetables. Highlights of the meal included deep-fried eggplant with cream cheese, beluga lentils with pide and feta, perfectly cooked cod with prawns and herb oil, and tender lamb chops with pomegranate glaze and subtle spices.
The restaurant is spacious and inviting, with well-crafted furniture and a relaxed, welcoming feel. The kitchen is clearly experimental and evolving, which makes each visit feel fresh. A great spot for anyone looking for something a little different and thoughtfully prepared.
