Indo-Italian restaurant at Listhúsið in Laugardalur
Few things make me happier than a great Indian or Italian meal—so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Indo-Italian in Listhúsið, Laugardalur in Reykjavik. And wow, did it deliver! The food was beautifully plated, full of flavor, and generously portioned. Every bite felt like a celebration of two of the world’s greatest cuisines.

The restaurant is run by Shijo Mathew and Helen Rose, a wonderful couple from Kerala, India. They’ve lived in Iceland for 13 years and speak Icelandic impressively well. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special—true to the welcoming nature of Kerala. Shijo, a chef with over 20 years of experience, is a master of both Indian and Italian cooking.
The menu is the best of both worlds: rich, fragrant Indian dishes alongside comforting, well-executed Italian classics. This mix makes the place perfect for families and groups, as there’s truly something for everyone.
During lunchtime (11:00–14:00), they offer a buffet, while in the afternoon and evening, you can order à la carte.
For lovers of Indian and Italian food (like me!), Indo-Italian is a must-visit. Highly recommended! 🙂
