Grazie Trattoria, located on the corner of Barónsstígur and Hverfisgata in downtown Reykjavík, is a charming Italian restaurant that combines a warm, cozy atmosphere with genuinely welcoming service. Soft Italian music in the background and large windows overlooking the street create a relaxed and inviting setting.

We began with an excellent antipasto misto – a beautifully balanced selection of Italian cured meats, Parma ham, pickled vegetables, olives, and truly irresistible garlic bread. The salt cod with olives, capers, mashed potatoes, and cherry tomatoes was a standout dish – easily among the best we’ve tasted, even compared to memorable meals in Portugal, Spain, and Italy.

The cotoletta alla milanese brought back fond memories of Milan, and the thin-crust pizzas were crisp, flavorful, and perfectly baked. To finish, we enjoyed a selection of classic Italian desserts, including affogato, panna cotta, tiramisu, and chocolate cake – all delicious.

Grazie also features a small but high-quality delicatessen and offers cooking classes in pizza, pasta, and tiramisu, adding an extra layer to the experience. A delightful spot for authentic Italian dining in Reykjavík.
